Jose J. Contreras, MD, is a top urologist who lends his skills and expertise to serve patients at New York Health at the Fort Washington location in New York. Jose J. Contreras, MD, is a 1961-graduate of the University of Santo Domingo in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. After his relocation to the United States, he served his internship at Presbyterian Community Hospital, general surgery residency at VA Medical Center, and residencies in urology at the University of Puerto Rico. He was also trained in the Medical Department Officer course in the US Army. Dr. Contreras is licensed to practice in the state of New York and attained board certification in urology with the American Board of Urology. He is a member of several professional societies and associations, including the Federal Government Service Urologists of Puerto Rico, the American College of Surgeons, the Dominican Medical Society, and the New York Academy of Medicine.
